FAQs
-
Stock monument orders are typically completed within 10–12 weeks from final design approval, not including installation. Custom granite monument orders generally require 18–24 weeks from approval due to the additional design, production, and engraving processes involved. Once completed, monuments are shipped to the installation facility closest to the cemetery. Any target date provided is an estimated time frame and should not be considered a guaranteed installation date, as installation is subject to cemetery rules and weather conditions.
-
Design sketches for stock artwork are typically completed within 24–36 hours, while custom or special artwork sketches are completed within 72 hours. Each sketch is provided in full color and includes all design details for review and approval. While we do not offer a DIY monument design tool, our experienced monument designers work closely with families to create meaningful, professional designs. We are happy to accommodate specific layout or design requests whenever possible. For copyrighted or trademarked images, written permission must be obtained from the original owner, and documentation must be included with the order.
-
Our granite monuments are guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship, excluding acts of God such as vandalism or natural disasters. Photo engravings carry a lifetime warranty against cracking and fading. Black-and-white monument lithography includes a ten-year warranty, while colored paint is not guaranteed due to natural exposure and weathering. For long-term appearance and durability, we recommend avoiding colored paint on granite headstones.
-
Our monument pricing is highly competitive and reflects industry-leading service and quality. While price represents the cost, value reflects craftsmanship, materials, and long-term durability. We offer a strong balance of affordability and premium workmanship when compared to local monument companies. Our stock flat headstones are manufactured at 4 inches thick, compared to the industry standard of 3 inches, providing added strength and longevity. Paint and highlighting are included in the base price of the monument at no additional cost.
-
Monument installations are handled by an authorized Wilbert licensee or, in certain cases, by the cemetery itself when drop-off installation is required. This ensures that all headstones and monuments are installed according to cemetery regulations and industry standards.
Final inscriptions, including last-date lettering, are completed by trained staff at Wilbert Greenville. We also provide training and guidance to funeral homes on using Last Date
Lettering (LDL) templates and submitting inscription orders to ensure accurate font matching and engraving consistency with the original monument.
Also, there are no additional charges for extra sketches, ensuring families can feel confident in their final design. And, we do not charge extra for double-process blasting, including flashed panels or flashed artwork.

Granite is a natural material, and variations in color, texture, and pattern are normal.
What may appear to be a blemish or discoloration is typically a natural characteristic of the stone and does not affect the structural integrity or durability of the monument.
These natural qualities make each granite memorial unique.
Certain granite colors, including Paradiso, Tropical Green, and Bahama Blue, may display more noticeable movement or variation. These colors can appear different depending on lighting conditions and mineral composition, which is a natural feature of quarried granite.
-
Our memorial granite is sourced from the regions where each specific color naturally occurs. Granite used for headstones and monuments is quarried from locations around the world. We work directly with trusted granite quarries to ensure consistent quality, reliable supply, and competitive pricing for our customers.

Grave monuments are primarily categorized by their positioning, height, and profile, ranging from flat, ground-level markers to, upright, and three-dimensional sculptures. The main categories based on shape and style include upright, slant, flat, and bevel markers, along with specialty options like benches and ledgers.

P1 (Polish 1): One surface is polished
P2 (Polish 2): Two surfaces are polished (Front & Back of an Upright)
P3 (Polish 3): Three surfaces are polished (Front, Back & Top of an upright)
P4 (Polish 4): Four surfaces are polished (Front, Back, Top & Sides of an upright)

Grave monuments, particularly upright headstones, come with a variety of top shapes that define their style, ranging from traditional to contemporary. The most common top shapes include rectangular (flat), serpentine (curved), and oval designs, often selected to reflect the personality of the deceased.
Serpentine: One of the most popular, this top features a gentle, flowing curve across the top, often dipping from one side to the other.
Flat Top: A standard, minimalist, and modern shape that provides a clean, straight edge.
Oval Top: A rounded top that resembles a classic arch, sometimes intended to look like a pair of tablets.
Corner Round: Features a curved top with "shoulders" or cut-out corners on the sides.
Rooftop: Designed to look like a sloped roof, where the top angles to a peak in the center.
-
A flat grave monument is a small memorial stone (usually granite or bronze) set directly into the ground, level with the grass. These, often rectangular, markers are popular for their clean, uniform appearance in memorial parks.
-
A grave monument foundation is, usually, a 3-to-4-foot-deep poured concrete pad set in the ground beneath a memorial to prevent sinking, tilting, and frost heave. It acts as a stable, level base—often with gravel underneath—to support the weight of the granite monument above
